Please Pray for Malawi

Please Pray for Malawi. The need is very serious! The maize (corn) which is their main crop is being infested with Armyworms. These armyworms are affecting many African countries, not just Malawi, so it will make it very difficult to import from surrounding countries.
It isn’t known at this time how devastating it will be to Malawi, but as of December 18, 2017,  20 out of 28 districts in Malawi have been declared to need immediate help. Pastor Joseph says that 50% of his crops are affected. The crops are young, about knee high.
There were some effects from the worms last year, but because of the bumper crops, it wasn’t a problem. This year they are a huge problem.
A USAID expert said that the caterpillars have spread to 21 African countries and threaten the continent's main food staple, maize.
The pests are difficult to eradicate since they have a short life cycle and procreate in abundance. During a two-week life cycle, a moth will lay up to 2,000 eggs, typically on young maize plants. When the larvae hatch, they burrow into the plant and destroy it.
Please Pray for Malawi
1John 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
In Christ
