As 2018 begins, Marilyn and I would like to thank the Footsteps to Joy family for your partnership in this ministry. You have been a great blessing to us, and you have been used of God to inspire, encourage, and support God’s work in Malawi, Africa through Pastor Joseph Maweta and Bread of Life Ministries.
We would like to take this opportunity to reflect and share with you the exciting work that has taken place in 2017 as we look forward to even more in 2018.
Bread of Life Ministries in Malawi has continued to thrive and fulfill its mission of reaching the community and the nation with the Gospel. There are many stories, but I will share one story of how Pastor Wilson came to know the Lord Jesus Christ.
One afternoon in May 2017 Edson (a 2016 Graduate from the Bible Institute), was passing out tracks and witnessing for the Lord in his home village. He witnessed to a man named Wilson who became interested in what he was being shown in the Bible. As Edson showed him more and more about the Gospel, Wilson became convicted and had a deep desire to receive Jesus. He prayed and accepted Jesus as Lord of his life. It turns out that Wilson was the pastor of a non-Christian church in the village. Upon becoming a believer, he left his church and started a Bible believing church in a neighbor’s front yard. He is now preaching Jesus on Sunday and attending the Bible Institute throughout the week. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness!
