The Lord has been expanding His reach in Malawi Africa. We
are looking for that to multiply in 2018.
Crops-the
bad news
In December (early in the growing season)
the Armyworms invaded the corn crop throughout most of Malawi and other African
countries. It looked like at least 50% of the crop would be destroyed. We
offered to buy chemicals to save some of the crop. Pastor Joseph asked rather
that we provide money for seed to plant beans that the Armyworms don’t bother
and don’t require as much water. We provided $2,750.00 for seeds that would
feed 35 families for a year. They planted in January and they are doing well.
PRAISE GOD!
PRAY FOR THE CROPS IN MALAWI AND THE OTHER
AFRICAN COUNTRIES THAT ARE AFFECTED!

Bible Institute
Early May the Bread of Life Bible Institute
will resume with approximately 30 students that are desirous to do the Lords
will and carry out His desires in their lives. Many will become pastors of new
and existing works.
the good news -new church
In the first week in February I was able to
talk with Pastor Joseph as he was traveling by bicycle to a remote village in the
district of Salima. He was traveling to meet with the village chief to get
permission to start a church there. The only way to get there is by bike, on
foot, or animal as there are no roads for vehicles. With permission he will go
back in two weeks with some workers, Jesus film equipment and food supplies.
They will travel by bike and on foot arriving Friday evening. Saturday will be
soul-winning and visitation, showing the Jesus film Saturday evening with a
message and gospel presentation. Sunday will be the first service and the
beginning of a new work. After a few weeks the church will locate property and
build a pole church with a straw roof. PRAISE THE LORD! This will be the first
new church in 2018.
Thirteen new churches were established in 2017.
Rebuilding Late
last year one of the village churches had blown down from high winds and heavy
rains (two walls and roof). The area Bread of Life churches have come together
as one and are working together to rebuild the church. The foundation is
complete and the brick walls are going up.
Footsteps to Joy will provide the funds for the roof.
Looking ahead-May
The
Christian secondary school, which began last September cannot be registered
with the Malawi government until the Library and science lab are completed.
Pastor Joseph is planning to do all the construction except the roof. Then, in
May, a group from Tennessee which will include my son-in-law and three
grandsons are planning to install the roof materials to complete the building.
They will also be involved in the Jesus film ministry
and village evangelism. The total
cost for the library/science lab is $4,500. We have $2,000 at present. Would you prayerfully consider a
gift to help with this $2,500 special need?
August-September
Myself and two granddaughters will be spending
those two months working at the Hope Village Christian School. One will be
teaching English to the teachers that are teaching in English. The other will
be organizing and setting up the new library. She will also train librarians to
manage the library after she is gone. They will both be involved with the Jesus
Film ministry, village evangelism, and Bible Studies with the youth. I will be teaching
at the Bible Institute.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we
faint not.
